All the best!
One time in college we had a guest lecture from some animators from an irish studio called Boulder media (they animated foster home and el tigra ) and they where saying that if you spend the time keying the animation out like what is done in hand drawn animation the hard work is done. They where also saying that flash animation tends to look better when its snappy. so if you go from pose to pose quickly and use the over lap and secondary action to sell the movement.this is done so much in those two t.v shows
Also i find the shape hints are god's gift. there pretty easy to work out.You can find it in modify and then scroll down to shape. but i think there only in flash cs3 and up. The only problem with this tool is it doesn't like lines to be on the shapes of the object. so after you animate you have to go over each area that you want a line on.
hope that make some sense. have fun with it.
I've worked with Flash before. It's not really that hard. There are some great tutorials around.
