Another try on the Atomic Robo character.. I was not too happy with the previous ones.. This one is more like what I had in mind.. Still some corrections to do, and I wanted to had a huge Dino head above him, but for now that will do!

yeah, 3d would definitely be the way to go. But I'm pretty sure there are ways to still give it that great vector look even though its a 3d model. And then just throw some of those awesome textures on it and you're set. But yeah, i just think seeing your designs move around would be a great treat
